1. Write down the commissioning code.
    1. Launch the Garmin device
    2. Go to the Suivo Pilot App
    3. Press on the association
    4. You can find the commissioning code at the bottom right.

  1. Remove the customization files from the Garmin device
    1. Go to the apps page and select “file manager”

    1. Select the folder “Garmin”

    1. Check if the folder is empty. if not, delete all the files in this folder so the folder looks like following screen.

    1. If the folder is empty, you can perform the factory reset

 

  1. Perform a factory reset
    1. Turn off the device
    2. When the device is off, press the power and Vol (+) buttons at the same time.
  1. After about two seconds,release the power button and keep holding down the Vol (+) button until the screen shows the Android recovery mode .
  2. Use the volume keys to navigate to "Wipe data / factory reset"

 


 

 

  1. short press the power button to select that option.
  2. Next, select Yes and press the power button to confirm

 

    1. After that is done, select Reboot System Now (confirm by pressing the power button) and wait until the device is restarted. This may take several minutes.
    2. Select the Country and language.
    3. The factory reset is done 

 

 

  1. Fix the Android time
    1. Download the following program on your PC
  1. https://developer.android.com/studio/command-line/adb
  2. Unzip the folder “platform tools” and place it in a location where you can easily find it. For example, on the desktop page

 

    1. Hold Shift and select the folder “platform tools” with the right mouse button
  1. Select “Open powershell window here”

    1. Connect the Garmin device to the PC with a usb cable
    2. Activate developer mode on the Garmin Device
  1. Go to settings / system / about device
  2. Press 7 times on “Build number” 
  3. Go to settings / system / Developer options
    1. Enable “USB debugging
    2. Click ok
    3. Allow USB debugging on the Garmin device

 

    1. Send following command to check if the Garmin is recognized

./adb devices

  1. Now you see if a device is attached.

 

    1. Send the following command to set the Android time.

./adb shell settings put global auto_time 1

 

  1. You don’t receive any confirmation so the screen will just look like this

  1. Turn off the USB bebugging on the Garmin device

 

    1. Deactivate the developer mode on the Garmin Device
  1. Go back to settings / system / about device
  2. Press 7 times on “Build number
  3. Now the developer option is disabled

 

  1. Connect the Garmin device to the wifi

 

  1. Check on the Garmin device if there are SW updates.
    1. Perform the updates

 

  1. place the Garmin device back in the vehicle

 

  1. Download the Suivo app on the Garmin device
    1. Open the web browser
    2. Go to https://apps.suivo.com/pilot
    3. Install the downloaded file
    4. put the pilot app on the home screen

 

  1. Open the pilot app
    1. Click to associate the device
    2. Enter the commissioning code
    3. Update the Suivo apps
